The 2023-2024 Eureka Lions boys basketball team has come into the 2024 season looking to fight and win for a chance to make it to the State Championship in March. The Lions have had some success making it past the District Tournament with ease and beating every team besides the Bigfork Vikings the past few years. They went to state in 2022 with the help of the best scorer in the state at the time, Gavin Bates.
The Lions have a great chance of making it to the State B Tournament in Billings with their size and amount of experienced seniors. The Lions have seven seniors on varsity this year with great size, starting with 6 '6 Braden Casazza and 6' 5 Jake Lane to help them down low. In the backcourt 6 '3 Tristan Butts plays point guard as well as 6' 1 Cole Sartori with newcomer 6 '2 Caden Vaughn.
The Lions have a killer defense and are working on their offense to become a state bound team. The Lions seek nothing but greatness.
Coach Gabe Evins stated, “ The little things are what makes a championship team, such as setting good screens and knowing where to be on defense. Everybody just needs to do their job.”
The Lions are 6-2 so far this season and look to keep their record with only two losses to finish the season. They have nine games left and look to win every game going forward into the District Tournament.
