The Volleyball team exited last week with two strong wins beating Bonners Ferry and Troy sweeping them 3-0. Volleyball traveled to Thompson Falls on Monday the 9th beating the Bluehawks 3-1 and improving to 6-0 in their conference. They will play in two more conference games this week, facing off with Mission at home on Thursday and heading to Superior on Saturday. They have two more conference games next week before they start their district tournament Friday the 27th in Plains. Junior Kara Stanger had some words to say about her team “We have had to change our rotation a lot this time, but regardless of where we are put we work together and play as a team; giving a higher chance of doing well moving forward.” The girls are very excited to host the divisional tournament here in Eureka and hope it gives them extra energy to make a push for state.

The XC boys placed second out of the B schools and the girls placed third out of the B schools in Polson Saturday the 7th. The XC teams have a big week going to the divisional meet Thursday in Thompson Falls. Next week the state meet will be held at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell. The meet will start at 1pm on Saturday. Michael Pitman still holds the team in being the best runner on the team.

The Football team had a lot to handle on the road against back-to-back state champion Florence Falcons; ultimately losing 35-14. The Football team is playing Whitehall on Friday for their Senior night. They face off against Anaconda next week before starting their playoff run to the state championship. Even after the loss the players are still confident in their chances to win a championship; knowing they didn’t play to their own standard last week in Florence. They expect to be the two seed in the west and facing off against the third team out of the east on Sat Oct 18th. Coach Trevor Utter said “This team is led by 14 seniors who have worked together since fifth grade to become who they are. We have strength at every position and that allows us to be successful in multiple ways. We had a setback last week, but we will right that ship, and our goal of a championship is still on the table.”
